‘Choppy Waters’ Sandycove
‘Choppy Waters’ Sandycove by Nick Fegan
This is from the famous ‘Scotsman’s Bay Sandycove. Co. Dublin. Here the contrast to my other works of this area is significant; the gloomy outlook for starters, and the rough sea. It was a very cold afternoon when painted. I remember my finger tips were stiff with the cold as i was sketching this for the painting here. i love the the colours of the various shrubbery and especially the ‘minty’ green sea.

This is from the famous ‘Scotsman’s Bay Sandycove. Co. Dublin. I wanted this watercolour to be more sharp and specific, as it deserves attention to the beautiful landscape features. The rough sea and heavy grey sky gives you an idea of the weather conditions – freezing February day. It was a very cold and still afternoon when sketched. I remember my finger tips were stiff as i was sketching this. i enjoyed painting the various colours of the shrubbery and especially the ‘minty’ green sea.
