Summer Showers out to sea
- Location: arklow, wicklow
- Country: Ireland
“Summer Showers out to sea” is a painting inspired by the one of the views from my Home, I live in an old coastguard Station on a cliff top and I am surrounded by sea on 3 sides.. there is a bank of Wind mills on the horizion and an open expanse of sea and some days (not very often) you can just about make out a very hazy outline of the cliffs in Wales!
I love the view of the horzion out to sea and it always amazes me how the weather whips by and most especially summer storms which are always so dramatic.. in this painting I wanted to capture the drama and contrast of a summer squall out at sea, when you can see the blankets of rain pass by but yet you are sitting in a perfectly sunny spot..
This painting is oil on panel and is float mounted and framed in a limed white wooden box frame
All work is carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and packed in a cardboard box then delivered directly to you
