About the Artist
Born in Scotland in 1940 Bob Lynn studied art at Edinburgh college of art before moving to London to pursue life as a painter. Of course that entailed working at an array of various forms of employment
in order to survive. In 1970 after a three months scholarship to study in Poland he bought a ruined coastguard station in the west of Ireland and spent the next fourteen years living and working between London and Ireland.
He has lived in his present home in Co. Wicklow since 1984 and has exhibited in numerous shows both solo and mixed around Ireland London and UK. The main Dublin galleries he has shown in were the
Solomon, the Hillsborough the Doorway and the RHA. He also spent five years as chairman of the Visual Arts committee in Carlow Eigse which meant during that time he introduced the work of several painters
from abroad to Carlow. His work is in many private and corporate collections in Ireland and UK.
