About the Artist
Originally from Dublin City and living in Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin, Ireland since 1987, Myra Jago holds both a BA(hons) and MFA (painting) from The National College of Art and Design, Dublin, Ireland.
In 2015, Jago was awarded a Royal Hibernian Academy Studio, where she produced the portrait Workout for the 185th RHA Annual and the painting Reflector by special invitation for The Honourable Society of King’s Inns Law Library. In the same year, six paintings travelled to The Hong Kong Convention Centre and her painting, Perfect Weather to Fly joined The Deloitte Art Collection.
This year, Jago’s painting Box of Reassurance was listed as one of fourteen key pieces at the 186th RHA Annual Exhibition – her third consecutive year to participate in The RHA Annual. Her work has also been chosen for The Royal Ulster Academy’s 135th Annual in Belfast in October 2016.
Jago has had three solo exhibitions and taken part in Future Perfect at The Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery, Creative Exchange’s Art in the Eastside Billboard Project in Belfast and Copy.Right? at 33 Contemporary Gallery, Chicago and exhibited with Dún Laoghaire Art Gallery since its inception.
